Capturing Student Attention

Strong weekly introductions “hook” the students’ interest and established an ongoing, recognizable story throughout the content throughout the module.

Step 1: The Idea

Dr. Cao had previously used this image and example in her face-to-face course. During a discussion with her Instructional Designer, Anabel, Dr. Cao described how they had used an image previously to illustrate important takeaways about perspectives and different lenses students will need to navigate professional organizations. Together, they collaborated to include this image and industry connection throughout the module.
